In general the book ins about a girl living in a world where one organization is ruling the word, forcing people o get bar code tattoos on their 17th birthdays. I don’t know how these books got published to be honest. At 17 years of age, people were expected to get a tattoo that could be scanned with lasers-essentially a barcode. Everyone over the age of 17 gets one.
