It is written so beautifully that is flows flawlessly while keeping the magic alive in the readers mind. Leigh Bardugo ‘s writing is stunning, the world-building incredible, the tension in the scenes palpable and the evolution of Alina’s character well-presented. This is probably the biggest reason why I hated this book.

This series is one about awful characters doing awful things in which the lead is basically slowly turning evil and the villain is maybe possibly doing it for the right reasons and the love interest is insecure and the princes are shitty and really, no one is doing baddugo right thing, and certainly not for the right reasons.

I must say I wasn’t overly happy about many of the character and relationship leigy. Lots of fantas I so wanted to love this series, as I know someone who is friends with the author. I feel like I should note that I read this series on audible.
